Audio utilities

The Spider Jam needs WAV files - mono 16-bit 44.1 Khz. Any of these programs can handle that.

SoundConverter - Windows and Mac, free or $14 shareware - excellent

Audacity - Windows and Mac, free - mixed results

iTunes - Windows and Mac, free - import files and convert to mono WAV - tutorial

Koyote - Windows only, free.

MD5 Checksum Utility for Mac - checks downloaded firmware files for corruption.

Jam2Wav - Batch-converts JAM files to WAV format.

GuitarCodexPlus - This is a great little freeware, cross platform guitar chord utility.

Guitar jam tracks

The web is a treasure trove of free and cheap backing tracks to supplement those built-into your Spider Jam. Most of these are in MP3 format and will need to be converted with one of the above audio utilities.
