JoesJamBlog.com is dedicated to all things Spider Jam. I'm not talking about some kind of arachnid jelly here. Spider Jam is a wonderful little guitar amplifier from Line 6 that does just about everything. Apart from emulating loads of other amplifiers the Spider Jam...well...jams. It can play along with you from its built-in drum or backing tracks or you can load up your own from your computer using an SD card. You can also use it for looping so you can build up duets or trios by just hitting a button and playing over the top.
I have been an unashamed Line 6 fan ever since I got my first Pod effects pedal. Now, I have a Variax 600 guitar, a POD XTLive and a little Pocket POD. All excellent products. When I read a glowing review of the Spider Jam in Guitarist Magazine in the middle of last year, I just had to have one and I can honestly say that I have not been disappointed. I jam with it every day.
I joined the Line 6 Spider Jam Forum to see what others think of the Spider Jam and to all accounts, most people seem as happy as I am. I have noticed that the same questions seem to crop up again and again and, although you can search the forum, it would be nice if all this information was collated in some central place.
Unlike some of their other products, Line 6 do not provide much by way of additional support for the Spider Jam. Apart from the basic manuals, the forum and a bit of troubleshooting, there are no facilities on the Line 6 site to share jam tracks, song tabs, tone setting and such, which is a pity and something that Spider Jam users would appreciate. That's what I hope to do here – with a bit of help from you!
The site interface is loosely based upon the Spider Jam itself so you should feel at home. More content will be added in coming months.
I am, of course, open to suggestions, articles, links and whatever else you can think of so please share your ideas!
